Purpose:
This section explains how tripla Connect groups guest stay data, member information, and website browsing data into segments to automate personalized communications and support repeat customer engagement.

1. Where to Set

2. How to Set Up a Segment

  1. All created segment will be displayed in a list.
  2. Click [+ New] on the segment list page to open the segment editing screen.

■ Create Custom User Segment:
These are segments created by setting conditions directly in the system (e.g., stay history, membership info, behavior).
■ Create Brand User Segment:
These are segments created by uploading a list of email addresses target for promotion emails.


3. Create Custom User Segment

  1. Custom segments can be added by setting conditions manually.
  2. By default, only one condition (“a”) is displayed.
  3. Additional conditions can be created by selecting “Add Category,” allowing multiple rules to be set.
1. Create Custom User SegmentTo configure conditions, click [Create Custom User Segment].
2. Title (Required)・Input the title of the segment at "Creating Custom User Segment" field. 
*It is used only within the admin panel and will not be visible to customers.
2. Rule
Up to 70 data items can be used to create categories.
・Combine categories using AND, OR, and ().
 For example, "a AND b OR c" or "a AND (b OR c)".
Click the trash icon to delete a category.
3. Add Category・Click [Add Category] to add new condition field
4. Update Button and User List
・After setting the "Rule", clicking icon [Refresh] in the upper-right retrieves the results.
The results display:
 - Member ID
 - Latest Checkout Date
 - Checkout Room Nights (Total)
 - Life Time Value (Total)
*Non-member (anonymous) guests are based mainly on cookie information, so personal details are not shown.
5. ID・If the user is a member, click the ID to view detailed member information.

6. Save the configured "Rule"
・Set the rule and click [Save].
・After clicking [Save], only the "Create Custom User Segment" tab will be displayed, along with the number of users and other retrieved data.

4. Create Brand User Segment

By creating a brand user segmenta list of email addresses for sending promotional emails can be uploaded.
Step 1To configure conditions, click [Create Brand User Segment].
Step 2
Enter a [title] and click the [Download] button to download the CSV template.

Step 3
In the downloaded template, fill in the [email] and [uid] fields.

*Both [email] and [uid] are required fields.
*[uid] is an ID used by the property to identify the email address and is not related to the tripla ID.
Step 4
・Save the CSV template and upload it.
When [Save] is clicked, the data is imported and the segment is created, and only the "Create Brand User Segment" tab is displayed.

Warning
The conditions under which promotional emails can be sent are as follows:
・Members who have consented to receive promotional emails
*Promotional emails cannot be sent to non-members or to members who have not consented to receive promotional emails.

4.1 Updating a Brand User Segment

The process for updating a Brand User Segment is as follows:
Step 1Click [Download]  for "Download last import result" to check the latest upload.

Step 2Review for any errors and add or remove email addresses as needed.

Step 3Upload the updated CSV template again to overwrite the segment with the new list.
Warning
  1. Brand user segments are independent from tripla custom user segments.
    Unlike custom user segments, conditions cannot be added to brand user segments.
  2. Each time a CSV file is uploaded, the existing email addresses in the segment are overwritten.
